We finalized the adoption of our four children in June of 2019 and have decided to adopt a little boy who we hosted this summer.
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome this beautiful child into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption-related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This exponential cost is why we have set a goal of $30,000.00 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
We recently started this process when we saw this little guy's photo on a hosting agency's website. After inquiring about his availability for summer, we learned that he has Cerebral Palsy. We decided to pursue hosting and have fallen in love with this little guy.
We are a recently retired military family, and Scott has served for over twenty years and has deployed several times. We have two adult children, ages 29 and 26, fully supporting our decision to add one more. We sat our other four children down for a family meeting, and as soon as they heard V's story, they all said, "yes." Since we began our journey with "V," another little boy has come into our lives. He has connected with "V" and is looking forward to the day "V" gets to stay forever and become his brother.
V is eager to come to America and have a family. He talks with excitement about having a family that loves him unconditionally and includes him. We are at the begging stages and look to get our home study and USCIS paperwork filed soon.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as they grow up.
Thank you,
Scott and Jackie McAdams
