is adopting a child from Congo

In early 2012, we decided to pursue an international adoption from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Our decision to adopt from the DRC came as no surprise; we had been researching the area in preparation for our mission trip in June 2012 to the eastern region of the DRC. Statistics on orphans in the DRC are staggering; an estimated 15% of the DRC&'s under 18 population are orphans. We were on the waiting list for about 18 months for one child. We are excited to announce that we recently received not one but TWO referrals! We are going to bring TWO children home from the DRC! We will provide additional details about the children in the near future. We now begin the long legal process to complete the adoptions and expect to bring the children home in 9-12 months. We are reaching out to everyone in an effort to raise money for the largest cost (which have now doubled!) our Referral Fees and the estimated travel costs to the DRC to attend court proceedings and bring our children home. We want everyone to be a part of our amazing journey! To learn more about our adoption, the DRC and stay up to date visit our blog at http://congolove.blogspot.com
