For those of you that don’t know we have been married 13 wonderful years. We have struggled with infertility and have been unable to conceive our entire marriage. We adopted our son 3 years ago and he is God’s greatest gift to us. We decided to pursue adoption again. We had our agency picked out and we were going to begin the process in August, then Hurricane Harvey happened and threw off our plans for a while. Then, on September 28, Sam’s grandmother passed away and we prepared to leave for Missouri for the funeral. Before we left we received a call from the adoption consultant about a special situation with a different agency. This birth mother is due in December. All the plans we had made were thrown out the window. We connected with this agency and the birthmother wants us to adopt her baby. Sooooo we have about 7 weeks to make happen what we originally planned to happen over the next year or so. The fees are $40,000. We know…wow! It’s an exorbitant amount of money to adopt. These fees include attorney fees, agency fees, filing fees, court costs, birth mother expenses, home study, and travel expenses in Oklahoma. We will be in Oklahoma 3-5 weeks awaiting approval to be able to travel back to Texas. We had a plan to apply with the other agency, save money, apply for grants, then wait to be matched. None of those things happened! We can’t apply for grants until after the home study is complete. Our home study is this weekend. We know that God’s plans are so much better than ours and we believe this is God’s plan to grow our family. We are asking that you help us raise some money to help bring home Little Sam’s baby sister. He’s been asking Jesus to give him a baby sister! We are so thankful that you have taken the time to read our story. We know that there has been so much devastation and bad news happening lately. We understand the needs all around us are so great.
