We have BIG news!
THE NEWS - We are adopting! And we figured it was so easy, we've chosen to adopt siblings. Okay, we kid about the "easy" part, but yes, you read it right, SIBLINGS and we couldn't be more excited.
THE JOURNEY - A little more on the backstory: We set a New Year's resolution in January 2017 to begin the adoption process, and we kept it *barely* by completing the application for our adoption agency on December 27, 2017. Now a year out from that day, we have moved into a new house/town/community, started new jobs, completed our home study, and prepared the best way we know how, for a house full of rowdy, amazing kids.
Now, back to that part about it being easy. If there is one thing we have learned this year, it's that this process is not easy. It has, however, cultivated within us endurance and thankfulness, because we are led and supported by a God who loves us, and wonderful champions like you. That being said, it takes a village to raise a child, and we're adopting multiple, so tell any surrounding village people you know to come help support us, because you know we're gonna need it.
THE NEED - Many of you have asked how you can help. Well, thanks! Here's how:
one /// p** ray -** We could not be more serious about this one. Parenting is new, with plenty of challenges, and we have no clue what we're doing! But we do envision a home where grace, love and safety abound. Prayer is the greatest gift you could give our family.
two /// kids stuff, clothes and toys, oh my! - We do not currently know the ages of our children, but when the time comes, we'll shoot off a flare, and the hunting and gathering of supplies will commence. Let us know if this is how you would like to give.
three /// get trained in respite care - This takes time, and training, but there is a need, not only for us, but many friends who are adopting alongside us.
four /// financially - Some of you have expressed a desire to help us financially. The amount below reflects the cost of our home study and other amazing services that have been provided to us through Nightlight Christian Adoptions. If we surpass our goal, any additional investment will be directed towards helping other adopting families. All giving is tax deductible. WIN!
