In February, the Five Henderson's will turn into Six. We have been given the privilege to bring home a sibling of our sweet Ella. Our attorneys called us in October to let us know that Ella's birth mother is pregnant with another healthy girl … DUE FEB 24th! And through prayers, fears, tears and excitement, we lean into the Lords leading. He calls us to father the orphans. He asks us to make our tables bigger. He begs us to tear down the fences of fear. He asks us to sacrifice. Sometimes until it hurts. He asks us to love like He loves. Over the next few weeks, we will need you to be our arm bearers when we are weak. We need our community. Our village. Our people. Our family. Our tribe. Like never before. We are not walking into this from a place of fear. But we are walking completely trusting in the Lord to show up in certain ways that ONLY. HE. CAN. DO. In so many ways. The pictures that float around social media that portray Abortion for $400 and Adoption for $40,000 are not far from the truth. In fact, it is spot on. So as you can imagine, this decision doesn't come lightly to us in many ways. And honestly, finances was a major factor we had to take into consideration when making this decision. At the end of it all, we decided that money CANNOT be THE determining factor of saying yes/no to this baby. So, with hands and hearts shaking, we are leaning into this beautiful journey once again, trusting that the Lord will equip us with the means necessary to walk it out. Your prayers. Your support. Your words of encouragement. They go farther than you can ever imagine. We may not be able to change the WHOLE world, friends. But we refuse to believe that we cannot make a difference in OUR world.
