We have BIG news!

We have prayerfully made the decision to add to our family through adoption!

We are both nervous and excited as we begin this process which can often be described as a rollercoaster. God has called us all to care for orphans and widows domestically and abroad. Jesus said that if we love the least of these, we love him. And in James 2, he speaks about having faith but no action. We cannot live by faith alone! God calls us to do radical things in this world and we could not feel more humble or amazed He has invited us on this journey.

As part of our adoption process, we have started an account so if you feel led to give financially you may do so. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs both domestically and internationally can lead amazing families away from it, leaving children without loving homes. However, we know that with God ALL things are possible!

Family and community is more important now, than ever. We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he grows up, and watching God work a miracle.

    Court Process

    November 14, 2025

    We have a date!! On December 17, our son’s case will be heard by the judge for final adoption approval! This is one of the last big events that has to take place in our journey before we can bring Kaze home. After this, the judge has 30 days (plus or minus) to hand write their decision and send to the Central Authority to be typed and then the no appeal period begins. This means, that we are potentially three/four months away from travel! Praise God!! When we have our adoption decree our agency will help us arrange for travel to Burundi and Kenya for our family of FIVE and we will finally be able to hold the child we’ve prayed for.

    Referral received!!

    April 24, 2025

    We have our official referral in-hand!!! It’s taken 2.5 months but we have it and now we have the next phase of international pediatrician review and USCIS immigration. But we still have a long way to go before sweet Kaze comes home. Since we’ve had to switch agencies, our expenses have doubled and we’d love to have your support along the way. We cover your prayer and if you feel led to contribute financially we are so grateful. Thank you for the love and support as we work hard to get Kaze home.

    It is with great joy that we share we’ve been matched with our son who is two years old and lives in a shelter in Gitega! Our wait was a little over three years and while it wasn’t the longest in our community, it was certainly hard. Next we’re getting ready to accept the official referral and pay those fees. They’ve increased significantly since we began our journey and so if you feel led to help us bring our little guy home, we would appreciate your contribution but more importantly-your prayers. We know that God can move mountains with prayer alone. Thank you for considering donating to our efforts. Every cent goes to our agency and our fees!
