We are adopting a beautiful baby boy or girl!
As educators, we have made it our life's work to nurture children. We would like to continue that desire and begin growing our family through adoption! With my husband being an adoptee himself, adopting is something we have planned to do from the very beginning of our relationship. We always dreamed of having a large family full of love and laughter. We truly believe that family is what you make it and we are beyond thrilled to create our family.
As a family of color, we have learned that there are many birth mothers of color who would like to have the option of choosing adoptive parents of color but sadly we are of the minority. This is a disheartening reality; yet an honest truth that has empowered us to explore this option to expand our family unit.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our sweet baby as he/she grows up. Our vision is to bring a precious baby into our home and shower them with infinite love.
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption-related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. While we are also looking into various adoption grant options, we have set a goal of $35,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
