We are excited to announce that we are adopting for the second time! Kaliana is going to be promoted to big sister as we build our family through adoption once again. God has been so good to us and we are thankful for the blessings that come through being part of a family.
Here's our story. After struggling with infertility and experiencing the heartache that comes along with having miscarriages, God opened doors in amazing ways and took us around the world to Taiwan to bring Kaliana into our lives. That door is no longer open, but God just opened doors once again. We have just been given the opportunity to adopt from Japan! And, so in faith that he will be our Provider, we take the steps to move forward with a second adoption.
During our first adoption, we were able to pay for it mainly with personal funds. Throughout Kaliana's adoption process, Saralyn was bringing in a teaching salary. She is currently staying home, as we feel this is most beneficial for Kaliana during her formative years. Saralyn is taking on babysitting jobs and sells crafts to help with expenses and Scott continues to work full time. This time around, God is having us walk through the humbling experience of seeking the financial support of family, friends and even strangers who have a heart for adoption. This adoption will cost us approximately $45,000. Please know that your gift is tax deductible. Should you choose to give anonymously, you will still receive a tax deductible receipt. Please be sure to click on our link, so that your giving will be credited to our grant. If you don't click on our link, your gift will go to a general fund. Also, if you work at a company that does matching grants, please check with your company to see if this would be an eligible grant.
When we receive our match the custody of the child takes place quickly. We must pay the completion (which is the majority) of our fees, as well as, travel within approximate 2-4 weeks from referral date.
We thank you so much for your prayers and financial support as we walk through this adoption journey. Please know that we are grateful for your support of our adoption. We look forward to meeting the baby that God is bringing to us.
