Anna and Austin Dannen

are adopting a child from United States of America

We are excited to tell you that we are pursuing adoption!

Adoption has always been near to our hearts. Austin was adopted at two days old and was so blessed by the life that his parents gave him, especially as they raised him to know Jesus and His grace. When we were married almost four years ago, we talked about wanting to adopt, but assumed we would get to it down the road after birthing a child or two. We have been unable to get pregnant so far, and have decided to become serious about adoption. God is using this time of waiting to show us that He is enough for our joy and is a good father who takes care of his children, even if we never have a family.

Two years ago, we purchased Austin's childhood home from his parents. It's a log house on seven acres. We would love to fill it with children and raise them to enjoy the great outdoors and all that country life has to offer!

As we have researched and studied this topic, we are blown away with God's heart for the fatherless as well as seeing how adoption is such a beautiful picture of the Gospel. God adopted us into his family when we had nothing to offer. We have been given all the rights of a child of God because Jesus lived the perfect life for us and died the death we deserve.

Looking into different types of adoption has been overwhelming. We have decided to start with private infant adoption. We know there is a huge need for foster parents and eventually would love to adopt through the foster system.

We have started the application process through Adoption Services of Spokane, but if someone were to know of an expectant mother who would is considering adoption for her baby, we have an attorney who would help us through that process.

As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $25,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. We will also be applying for grants.

We are excited to see how God is going to build our family through adoption and would love for you to partner with us by making a tax-deductible donation if you feel led to do so. Please pray that God will guide and prepare us for the baby he brings us!

"Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit the orphans and widow in their affliction and to keep oneself unstained from the world." James 1:27

"For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs–heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ…" Romans 8:15-17
