We have BIG news!
We are adopting a child! Derek and I have talked and prayed about this since before we were married. But now we are more settled with school being completed for me (Shelley) and both of us in jobs we love! Derek and I are committed to raising at least half of our adoption costs personally. I (Shelley) am currently working extra shifts to help offset the costs.
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of 20,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
All funds given through this will go to adoption costs and the will provide accountability for the money unlike other crowdfunding sites! This is a 501(c)3 which means you can deduct this donation from your taxes.
