Here is our story for those who are not familiar with our family. We have been married for almost 7 years. We have 2 Great Danes, and a cat. In 2011, we decided to start a family. After a year of trying with no success, we met with an infertility specialist. We attempted many different treatments before deciding to try IVF in 2013. After 4 years of unsuccessful treatments, we made the decision to forego further infertility treatments. It has been a long, emotional road. However, the challenges we faced have verified our desire to become parents. They have brought us to the next stage in our life, adoption. We could not be more united as a married couple and we look forward to the journey of becoming parents to a child in need. We have discussed and researched the best fit for our family. We selected an agency, and began working with them in February. We are overjoyed about our path to become parents and we cannot wait to meet our son or daughter. There are many steps we will need to take along the way, and we are committed to each and every one. One of the biggest steps in this process will be an in-country stay for up to 6 months. What an incredible experience that will be for our family to embrace the child’s culture and learn as much as we can while living in their home country. With all the steps required, we are asking for support from our family, friends, co-workers, and community members. We know this journey will be challenging, but we are confident it will be all worth it when we welcome our child home.
