Dear Framily (Friends and Family),
Thank-you so much for helping us with the adoption process. We are so grateful to have your love and support on this journey as we adopt a child from India! We truly believe that it takes a village, and we want to thank YOU for being part of ours.
We hope you will continue to support our growing family with love, prayers, and phone calls filled with wisdom. We also know that you may have lots of questions- we took a week on Facebook and Instagram to answer questions as transparently as possible. If you didn't have a chance to see those posts yet, our summary is here:
Why are we adopting? We want to grow our family biologically and through adoption!
Where are we adopting from? India!
When do we get to bring our child home? It will take time- we are hoping June-December of 2022.
What does the timeline look like? We anticipate lots of paperwork throughout 2021. It will take 6-18 months once our paperwork is submitted for us to be matched with a child. After this, it will take 6-12 more months to bring that child home. We know this is a long wait, but we believe this process is done intentionally to reduce human trafficking, coercion, and keep families together when possible. Those are all good things- and this is worth the wait!
Who are we adopting? We don't know yet! It may be a sibling set or a single child under the age of 6. We will update everyone as soon as we know and can share more!
How can you help? Love, prayers, and phonecalls go a LONG way. We have many fundraisers planned as well, and if you can share these with your local communities, churches, and book clubs- we can meet our fundraising goal. In addition to donations through AdoptTogether, we are also having two t-shirt fundraisers and started an Etsy store, PinchofPine. We truly think this process takes a village- and we are so grateful for your support.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our children as they grow up. We hope to raise $5,000 through AdoptTogether to fund our adoption- these donations are tax deductible, and will only be available to our family as we apply to AdoptTogether for grants proving that we are using the funds for adoption related expenses- they'll even disperse the money directly to our agency!
