Blakeley Drake

is adopting a child from United States of America

Hi friends! It’s Josh and Blakeley, and we have BIG news…We are adopting a

second child! We have been together for nine years and were married in November 2011. Even

before our relationship truly began, we knew we wanted to be parents and have always

wanted a big family. Soon after we married, we suffered two unexplained, devastating

miscarriages. While we only were able to love our babies in utero, we loved them dearly.

Soon after losing our babies, Blakeley was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian

Syndrome, MTHFR and PAI-4G/4G (blood clotting disorders). Despite these

disheartening diagnoses, we continued desperately praying and trying to conceive for

several years. Discouraged after years of trying, we finally saved enough money to

begin consultations and expensive treatments like IUI with a fertility specialist. Multiple

types of treatments and medications were all to no avail, leaving us with aching hearts

and an empty bank account. We always had discussed adopting, but intended to do so

later in life after having biological children. Our reproductive endocrinologist suggested

we take some time off from treatments and decide if we’d like to pursue IVF. For another three years, we waited and prayed and wished. Ultimately, we felt

called to adopt. After our struggle with infertility, it was a privilege to grow our family

through adoption in 2017. Our daughter, Delaney, is the light of our lives and we cannot

wait to expand our family with a new addition and give her the baby brother or sister she

(and we!) long for. We will be adopting a child 0-2 years old from the US. We have no

set preferences, and are open to God’s leading for factors such as gender, race, or

multiples.

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to

welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have

started a crowdfunding campaign. How much money does it take to bring our family

together forever? It may surprise you to hear that the average adoption cost $40,000,

and the average income in America is only $54,000! We are estimating this adoption will

cost around $35,000. While we plan to continue to work hard, save hard, and tighten

our budget, we need help funding this adoption. We continue to give this financial

burden to God, because we simply don’t have the money. Asking for help is hard. We

have been humbled as we look at this mound of money that is quickly becoming due.

We ask that you pray and support us through this process, we need family and

friends to walk along side us.

This page will serve as a means to help us fundraise. All donations are tax deductible, and will be dispersed directly to our agency for our

adoption expenses. We also have a PayPal account if you would prefer. We won’t take

your support for granted. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Sincerely,

Josh and Blakeley
