We are so excited to announce that we are adopting!
We have been considering adoption for some time, but after prayerfully considering our situation we have decided to step out in faith and depend on God to show up throughout this process so that our home and church can be a place that an "outcast of society" can encounter Jesus!
We are specifically looking at adopting from the African country of Ghana and we understand there is a certain level of risk involved. Please consider supporting us through prayer along the way!
We are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $30,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
All throughout the Bible, God has instructed His people to have a heart for the outcasts of society. Whether they be widows, sojourners, poor, or orphans God desires His people to deviate from social norms and stand out as a people of love. So when James says in 1:27 of his book, "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress…” he means that Christians better not simply love those who are easy to love, but also those who are difficult to love.
Ashton and I feel a strong calling to obey this instruction through adoption! Thank you for joining us on this journey. It is a God-sized dream that will require Him to do big things. Our goal is to bring Him glory!
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up. It takes a village; thanks for being a part of ours!
