Adoption was never in our plans, but as we have been shown time and time again, God has plan of His own - a plan that is infintitely more beautiful than any we could dream up. This is the journey we are on. It is a journey of faith to bring our teenage daughter home. We are a military family with three biological children, all with special needs of their own. Michael has honorably served our country for over 18 years in the US Army and is currently deployed overseas. Kate stays home with our three children - Andrew (age 9), Leah (age 7), and Alex (age 4). Our oldest son Andrew was diagnosed with autism at age 2. Leah was diagnosed with a rare cancer at age 1, and Alex has had severe food allergies since birth. We have seen God&'s hand in our lives through these challenges. We are so blessed to be able to say that all of our children are thriving. Andrew has made remarkable progress in school and is now at grade level, Leah was declared cured of her cancer in 2016 after five years of remission, and Alex has outgrown several of his allergies and is incredibly healthy and full of life. While it is true we have faced difficulties, we have seen that God has a plan for all of us. We believe these challenges have made us better parents and have strengthened our marriage. After much prayerful consideration, we know God is leading us to adopt a teenager. "Y" is an incredibly kind and thoughtful girl, currently living in an orphanage. We first welcomed her into our home through a hosting program and now we can&'t imagine her not being a permanent member of our family. We believe it is our duty to be obedient to this calling and let God show us the way. We believe that He will provide the resources. Our hearts are willing and ready and we are so thankful for your help.
