Dear Friends and Family,
We have EXCITING news to share with everyone….
We are adopting a child from Jamaica!
Keith and I are beyond excited to finally share this news with everyone! We are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. To begin our adoption process with friends and family, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that international adoption-related costs can easily total up to $40,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $30,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
There are several risks and unforeseen situations that could present themselves when pursuing international adoption. BUT we feel confident in saying "yes" to this beautiful birth mother and embracing the story God is writing for our family! We believe He has called us into this and believe He will see us through it! We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we intend to build around our child as he/she grows and embraces its full potential as a child of God!
This opportunity began June when we were approached by the birth mother on our mission trip to Jamaica. The baby is due September 23. However, we recognize babies like to set their own schedules and could enter into the world at their own time. Currently the mother is experiencing high blood pressure and has recently been admitted in the hospital. Therefore, our time frame and fundraising opportunities could be cut much shorter than planned!
Thus far Keith and I are completing our home study and have completed our agency submission with the international agency who will oversee this entire process. We have personally contributed over $3,500 to cover the initial home study and agency fees.
We believe the story God is writing is much larger than just us. We know we cannot fulfill this calling on our own!
Our prayer is that friends, family, and the community will become a part of this story and partner with us in prayer and financially to see God's story unfold.
