The Durhams have BIG news!!!
As many people know, Jason and I have been trying for over a year to have our own baby. After many doctor appointments and procedures that should have made a way for us to have our miracle baby, it just wasn't working. We took a step back to really focus on our marriage and to let God lead us in the way He wanted.
Adoption has always been on our hearts, but we wanted to have biological kids first before we adopted. After a year and a half of fail after fail of trying to have a baby, we started praying that if adoption was what God had planned for us, He would open the right doors. During our few months of taking a break from it all, God really started to transform our hearts into a new direction and started to change our desires. We were on fire for adoption, and we knew we couldn't wait any longer to start the process, whatever it may be. So, with that being said, God is so good, y'all! We got a call that there was a young girl looking for a forever family for her baby, and she wanted him/her to go to a couple who can't have their own baby. I was in shock. I never imagined to receive news like this so quickly! Jason and I automatically said yes, we are in! It was that day that I knew my dream of being a momma was coming true and it was that day I knew my life would be forever changed. In that moment, we praised Jesus for his unfailing love and for constantly being at work in our lives, even in the moments of despair. He works ALL things for GOOD! That same week, we met our precious birth mom and it was a day I will never forget. God's presence was in that place and we all fell in love with each other. It was such a special moment, and I am so thankful that we continued to trust that God's plan is always greater! We have no words to describe how incredible this opportunity is, and how precious the birth mom is to us for this amazing gift she is giving us.
As you can imagine, we have a lot of expenses ahead as we prepare to bring our miracle baby home, the biggest challenge being that the baby is due June 17, which greatly reduces our timeframe to save the needed funds. We would so appreciate your consideration in helping us make this adoption legal. We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up. For this, we would be forever grateful! We also covet your prayer for this process~ for the heart of the biological mom, the health of this precious baby, and for us, that the transition will be peaceful and smooth.
