To Our Dear Family and Friends:
We have some AMAZING news! We are adopting a child - a wonderful (now 13-year-old) boy from China!
Our first meeting with him was late 2016, when God brought our lives together through another family who was hosting him. It was even more significant because they were going through the adoption process themselves, and have since adopted two more kids to add to their family of eight! The experience brought greater impact of God's own heart for the widow and the orphan - and how much adoption is on His heart in giving everyone the opportunity to become a part of His family!
Needless to say, that experience led to a growing conviction and commitment to pursue adoption of this child. We continue to be incredibly excited and are doing everything we can in preparing to welcome this beautiful boy into our home. In the midst of the adoption process, we've reflected more on the meaning of the phrase, "It takes a village to raise a child".
Our "village" is really all of you. It's our hope and prayer that by inviting you into this process with us, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around this boy as he grows into a man. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption-related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $15,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
