Dear Friends and Family, We are so excited to be adopting from the Democratic Republic of Congo. UNICEF estimates that there are hundreds of thousands of orphans in this country ravaged by both corruption and militant groups. We believe every child should belong to a loving family and so we are thrilled to be this family to orphaned children. We are not heroes. We can&'t do this without the support of our community. We need prayer, emotional support and financial assistance. The full cost of our adoption will be over $35,000. The largest amount due is the $18,000 referral fee. We anticipate needing to pay that within the next 3 to 6 months (Sept - Dec). With both humility and gratitude we ask you to consider helping us reach our $18,000 goal by September. We do not want to turn down a child because we can&'t pay the referral fee. The support and generosity of the people in our lives has been so encouraging over the past few months.
