Sara Foltz

is adopting a child from Ukraine

We are excited to announce that the Foltz family is expanding through adoption! What started as a discussion with Oliver over an episode of Amazing Race about 9 months ago has turned in to a little girl in Ukraine ❤️

All told, we will make three trips and spend 4-5 weeks in country. If all goes to plan (not a guarantee in Ukraine) we should be home with her around Thanksgiving. As you know, Sara is a real estate agent (always looking for referrals ;) ) and taking an extended amount of time away from her business is going to have an immediate and long term effect on our finances. Ben will also have to take unpaid time off work. We also expect to have more time off when we return home with hospital visits and potentially surgery for her. (Ukraine's adoption process is unique and as such, we aren't able to share any photos or many details. We will be traveling to Ukraine in the next 6 weeks for the first of 3 trips and once we make our referral official and sign paperwork then we can share a little more. She is considered special needs and therefore is available for adoption at a younger age but that's all we can share at the moment.)

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new person into our home. As part of that, we have started fundraising. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $15,000 to help ease the financial burden associated with her adoption and our travels.
