We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful little life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign and puzzle fundraiser.
Each piece of our 300 piece puzzle costs $25. Buy 1 or buy 50–whatever works for you. We will write your name on the back. Someday we will be able to put it all together, and show the littlest Fonville just how many people helped to make us a family.
Adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have started this fundraiser: to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
We are saving and applying for a number of grants, as well–but every little bit helps. And we've so appreciated many of you who have reached out asking how to help.
We hope this puzzle is way for those who would like to contribute to do so—without being too much of a burden in an already difficult year.
And, maybe most important, we hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up. We know it takes a village to raise a child—and in this case, a village to get them home.
