is adopting a child from United States of America

I have exciting news

I am adopting a baby!

I have always wanted to have a family and adoption has been on my mind since I was in high school. I feel fortunate that I have a whole community of close friends and family to share in this joy with me. For the past 7 years I have been getting my life in place financially in order to be able to raise a child comfortably as a single parent. My career as a nurse offers me this stability along with flexible scheduling and job security.

Although I feel confident about my financial situation to raise a child, the costs of the adoption itself are a little overwhelming. On average adoption costs are between $30,000-$40,000. This includes legal fees, agency fees, medical expenses, birth mother services, etc.

I am well on my way through this long and thoughtful process. I am adopting an infant from the United States with the help of Adoption STAR which is based out of Buffalo, NY, a non-profit agency that was highly recommended to me. I have completed a home study with a social worker and background checks. Now I am waiting for an expectant mother to choose me to parent her child.

I am reaching out to share my experience and continue growing a support network. I created this crowdfunding page to post updates, keep friends informed of my progress and accept financial contributions. Please feel free to share this with friends that may be interested. I would be happy to answer any questions about the process and why I have chosen this route.

I am excited to share my journey with all of you and I am filled with gratitude for all of the support I am receiving.
