We have BIG news!
We are adopting a child!
We would like to thank all of our friends and family for their love and support throughout the years. We believe God has called us to grow our family, though we are still uncertain as to how He will do this. The only thing we know for sure is that we have been called to care for, nurture, and love a child, who, with God’s grace, will one day care, nurture, and love others.
In 2014 we started trying to have children. We assumed this would be a very joyful time in our lives, but with unexplained infertility issues we sometimes struggled to see God’s plan, His love, and His grace.
After two years of struggling on our own path, God began to show us His path. We started meeting couple after couple who had just went through the blessing of adoption, including one of our own siblings. Seeing the joy that this brought to both the children and the families, opened our hearts to the possibility of growing our family through adoption. Now that we are on this path we feel joy, excitement, and peace for the road ahead. We know God has a very special child just for us, and look forward to the day when our paths finally cross.
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
As of May 23, 2018 our puzzle is completed and we have raised $5,647!!! This includes the $500 that our Chipotle fundraiser brought in. This fundraiser has been an amazing process, we have had complete strangers donate online. God is so good and we are so very thankful to everyone who has supported us with donations, prayers and words of encouragement!
Currently, we are finishing up our photo album that the agency uses to show the mothers to help them pick a family. Our time frame for baby is September - December but this is a very unpredictable process and we believe God will give us our baby at the perfect time!
