We are adopting a child!
After years of infertility we are embarking on the incredible journey of starting their family through adoption. After months of prayer and consideration we put in our papers to be matched with the child that would complete their family. We have been approved to adopt from the country of Hungary, and are in the final stages of completing our home study and dossier to be sent.
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $15,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. So far we have already payed around $10,000 in agency and government fees, with over $10,000 left to go. This does not include any of our costs associated with living in Hungary for 2 months, or immigration costs.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up. Just as the old saying says “it’s takes a village!”
