Haydn & Katie Gilbert

are adopting a child from United States of America

The News Is Out!!!

We have adopted the most gorgeous baby girl, Isaiah “Izzy” Jane Gilbert!!

Words cannot begin to describe how over the moon we are to have our girl HERE with us.

If you would have asked me (Katie) a week ago, I would have told you that falling in love with my husband was the biggest SURPRISE of my life. But, our sweet girl has quickly stolen that title. As many of you already know, we were not expecting Miss Iz quite so soon. We thought we’d be LUCKY to have our child within 6 months after starting the process. So, you can imagine the emotions we felt when we got the call, before we had even completed our paperwork. If we have learned one thing, it is that God doesn’t much care for OUR plans, as HIS are always so much GREATER!! Even though we may not have a beautiful nursery done, or any of the crazy cool gadgets; our girl is LOVED!!

There is no doubt that there has been much heartache and financial strain throughout our journey to grow our family; but, every minute, every step and every tear was well worth it. Momma and daddy could not have dreamed up a more beautiful story. Thank you, Isaiah, for blessing us; it is the gift of a lifetime to be your parents.

We THANK YOU for thinking of us, praying for our family and for all of the love that has been sent our way. Our cup is truly overflowing. We appreciate anything you can do to help us in this process of adoption. You truly have no idea how much it means to us\<3.

God is Good!!!!

With so much love and gratitude,

Haydn, Katie & Izzy

In case you haven’t heard how we found out, here’s a little glimpse at of our story that we shared with friends on FB…

On July 20, we were walking into the Gristmill, in Gruene, TX, ready for a weekend on the river; when at 6:18, we got a call that would change our lives forever. Our baby girl had been born!!! We had only just decided to start the adoption process a month earlier, and had not submitted any paperwork or done our home study. But, the agency knew us, had our adoption book & they had our baby!! So, although, we were in shock and COMPLETELY unprepared…this was it!! God's plan in action. We had to head home, to become a family of 3 (plus two fur dudes, of course). On July 22, after what was the most perfectly wild 24-36 hours of our lives, we got to pick up our sweet girl. The moment we saw her, it all made sense!! All of the "whys," all of the tears…she IS our "why!!!" We waited a long time for you Isaiah "Izzy" Jane Gilbert, and you were well worth the wait girlie. Words cannot describe what we are feeling or going through right now…but we are HAPPY & we are GRATEFUL!!! Our prayers have been answered 10 fold, and we are now blessed to be mom and dad to the most beautiful Baby girl in the world.

Isaiah 40:29-31

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
