is adopting a child from United States of America

- Waiting for Our Missing Piece

We have some super exciting news… We are adopting!

As some of you know, we started our adoption journey back in 2018. With the high monetary costs of adoption, Chris's cancer, and the purchase of our new home, we chose a foster to adopt agency (because it was free) to adopt our baby. After months of courses, home studies, interviews, and background checks, we finally became licensed foster to adopt parents. After three days of having our license, we welcomed our two babies- a 2 year old and a 2 month old. Our hearts were filled with joy and we quickly began bonding with our new babies, counting down the days until they shared our last name. I wish the rest were sunshine and rainbows.

As wonderful as the children were, we found ourselves in a sinister place within the system-the ugly side of foster care. We were bombarded with lies, deceptions, betrayal, and heart break. After seven months of enduring emotional pain, we decided to close our home. A decision that was made with God, though it did not come easy.

After closing our home, we cried, we prayed, and we listened. Through that, God brought us to Lifetime Adoptions (lifetimeadotpion.com), a Christian adoption agency. Our desire to expand our family through adoption keeps burning and we know this is the right place for us.

As previously mentioned, adoption is very expensive and costs can easily total up to $45,000 (domestically). This is why we have set a goal of $40,000 to help offset the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the God loving community we want to build around our child as he or she is growing up.

We will be giving you updates along the way through our blog page Searching for Our Missing Piece. In the meantime, please be praying for us, our future baby, and his or her birth parents. Also, please share our story with those you feel led to. God Bless you all and thank you for everything!
