Jason and I have been dreaming about becoming parents since long before we were married. After five years of marriage and no "success," we began fertility treatments and were fortunate to become pregnant on our second IVF cycle. Unfortunately our son, Alex, was born several weeks premature and only lived for six weeks. We also learned during this time that it is unsafe for me to carry another child. After taking time to grieve our loss, we started our adoption journey almost a year and a half later. We were originally determined to fund our adoption mostly on our own with support of close family. Then we learned that our original adoption agency, IAC, had declared bankruptcy and closed its doors overnight with no warning. We lost almost $10,000 and are unlikely to get any type of reimbursement. Despite the many challenges we have faced, we are not ready to give up. We are grateful to have found Graceful Adoptions, a smaller agency with a shorter average wait time, but we need your help!
