Adopting a child with Down Syndrome does not take a special family. It simply takes an ordinary family, and makes them special. _____________________________________________________________ We are the Gorman Gang - Gary and Brenda (mom & dad) with 3 beautiful daughters (and one in heaven). We are asking for you to consider partnering with us to help bring home 4 yr old Ava, diagnosed with Down Syndrome, from China. Through sacrifice, hard work, and God's guidance, Gary and I have been able to fund 70% of our adoption costs! However, now we need to trust that God will stir your hearts to help bridge the last of our adoption costs. _____________________________________________________________ Our Adoption Journey: Sometimes, beyond the biblical mandate to defend the fatherless, is the simple desire to start a family. This is how our journey began in 2005, with the adoption of our first daughter, and led to three more adoption journeys to bring little hearts into our forever home. Our second daughter came home with an undiagnosed and unknown rare heart condition. Our time with her in our arms was numbered and we had to accept that her healing would only be through the promise of a new body with no more pain or tears. However, through our deep love and loss of her, God was able to use the moments to show us that Special Needs adoption didn't require parents with medical degrees or specialized skills. It only requires an ordinary family who is willing to let God knit an extraordinary family together. With this basic realization, we removed all restrictions on our match profiles and we have never looked back. Our next adoption was a beautiful 9yr old with Cerebral Palsy. She radiates such joy that everyone is drawn to her. We then welcomed a determined and resourceful 4yr old who was blind and non verbal. She has taught us that limits are meant to be overcome and pouring out love will do more for a child's growth then anything else. Which leads us to Ava. Her laugh is absolutely infectious and her smile will melt your heart. We cannot wait to welcome her home and forever into our arms. We sincerely hope you too will consider Special Needs adoption/foster. It will forever change you and leave a deeper understanding of love. Thank you for your prayerful consideration of supporting our Journey to Ava.
