We have some BIG news!
We are adopting a child! Our son Harvey is a preemie and spent the first 53 days of his life growing in the NICU. There are SO many unanswered questions surrounding Harvey's early arrival. It is because of those unknowns that we feel it is not safe to have more biological children, but we feel that there is room in our hearts for another child. We have prayerfully asked for God's guidance as we look to grow our little family. We are working with Faithful Adoption Consultants (FAC) to help guide us to the baby God has for us. We are currently in the 'never-ending' paperwork stage which includes multiple background checks, home study, family profile books, and more. Once all of these things have been completed we will be 'active' and will be able to be matched! I will be updating things on here as we go.
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared as we begin this journey to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $50,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents and help out if there are extra surprises along the way. If we were to have any money raised that would not be needed at the conclusion of our journey we would ask AdoptTogether to allow that money to go to other adoptive families.
