We have decided to adopt!
We would love to tell you all a little about our adoption! We have known that we wanted to adopt since we got married back in 2012. We have always felt called to adoption because of how blessed Joey has been since he was adopted. We have also always loved how adoption reflects the gospel.
We always imagined having children biologically first and then adopting. We initially tried to get pregnant for about a year and a half. After this, we started a fertility work-up several months ago while also praying about and looking into adoption. Instead of starting fertility treatments, we feel called to adopt instead! We do not look at adoption as a "back-up plan;" rather, we look at is as a wonderful opportunity to welcome a new baby into our family.
We are so thrilled to start the adoption process and are doing everything we can to get ready for our new blessing! As part of our adoption process, we have started a fundraising campaign to offset some of the costs. Adoptions can cost anywhere from $35,000 to $50,000. Because of this we have set a goal of $35,000 to help ease the financial burden of adopting.
We really appreciate you considering donating to our cause and we look forward to welcoming you into the community that will surround our child as he/she grows up! We know not everyone will be able to/feel called to contribute financially. Please do not feel obligated to contribute! Even more important than financial support, we would appreciate your PRAYERS. Please pray for our future child, his/her birth parents, and us as we try to become parents. Thank you so much!
