Hi! We are the Grzeskiewicz family! We have one biological child, Connor, who is 8 years old. We felt like our family was not complete, and we didn&'t want Connor to be an only child. We were drawn to host a girl from an Eastern European country. Looking through the photolisting, a little girl with a shy smile stood out to us. On her description, it was said she was extremely shy and kept her head down the whole interview. She was host only because she said she did not want to get adopted. At the time she was 11(now 13), and even though she had been in an orphanage since she was 5, she still held out hope her mother would return. At the airport, she kept her head down and kept going to the back of the line she was so scared! She warmed up during her stay. However, when she left, we felt sure she still would not want to be adopted. At first, we were not going to rehost again due to expenses. We felt, however, our story with this girl was not done. We could not fathom what her future would be if she stayed there. An older child has such a hard time to be adopted. We prayed and decided to host again. We were soon deflated because another family was going to host her. Even knowing this, we still called to let them know if anything happened, we wanted to host her again. We prayed and prayed. Two days later we got a call that the host family backed out and we could rehost! Two days after that, we got an email that she had told the orphanage director she would like to be adopted if we would adopt her! Prayer works!! We love this girl, and already see her as our daughter. I hope you can find it in your hearts to help us get our little girl home!
