We hope that by inviting you into this process, and telling you our story, you will see yourself as part of the community and family we hope to build around our child as he or she grows up.
You may or may not know the struggles we have faced these past few years with infertility. Our plan was always to have children but after a few years of trying to conceive naturally, we were faced with the difficult reality that it was not possible for us. It became clear that we were meant for something greater, something BIGGER. The universe was telling us to move forward with adoption.
We can't even describe the peace we experienced once our decision had been made. For the first time in so long, we felt hope, joy and the certainty that we would be parents.
We have wanted to have a family for as long as we can remember. We have a unique love for each other, an unbreakable bond and we want so badly to share that with a child, to have a family. We cannot wait to wake up on Christmas mornings to a happy child, excited that Santa came, or for all of the birthday parties and science projects we get to help with.
We are beyond excited to share our story and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign:
It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $50,000 or more and this is all on top of raising a child, an extra cost of having a family. The agency we are using has clearly laid out most of the anticipated fees we should expect, which is why we chose them. Since our agency works with 5 surrounding states, there are however a few expenses that could be unpredictable depending on each states regulations.
We do not take it lightly to be asking so many people to contribute and sacrifice.
