Kiersten Hasemeyer

is adopting a child from United States of America

We are adopting!

Before we begin, we should probably let you know Ellison has put herself into "Big Sister Training." When we asked her what this was, she explained, "It's practicing singing to the new baby, reading and making the 'shush, shush' noise that calms babies when they're upset." She practices whenever she can - with friends, cousins, neighbors and even her baby dolls.

Our Little Family has a lot of experience in the beautiful and unique ways God can knit families together and we are so excited about adding another little human to our team! Our home study (this includes, but not limited to background checks, interviews, answering tons of essays, training, more training, a home visit) is just days away from being complete and we are beyond thrilled to begin the next step in this journey - the wait. Ok, maybe thrilled isn't the best term - as waiting for a little baby will be so tough (especially for Ellison) but we know this time means we are that much closer to bringing a baby into our family. We'd love for you to come along on our newest adventure!

Over the last year and half we really opened our family's addition up to God, praying for His will, whether that be another biological child, fostering or adoption, and doors continually opened for adoption. We are so grateful for the people who are caring for the expectant mothers and babies at our adoption agency, and are grateful they know what a sacrificial gift these mothers are giving their child and us. With that said, we have no idea what these expectant parent(s) are going through and will never pretend to. We are hoping for an open adoption but will meet the expectant mom at her comfort level. For the past few months we've begun praying for not only our expectant parent (s) and baby, but all of those who are deciding. In fact, Ellison, has named the baby Lemon Squeeze Cordoroy (after the bear) Grape. She is open to changing it once seeing the baby…

For those that don't know, adoption is a very expensive undertaking (around 40K) - so much goes into taking care of the whole adoption triad (expectant mom, baby, and adoptive family) and we feel so much peace about the agency we chose and how they handle funds, as well as this site- everything goes towards our adoption - all donations are tax deductible. If you feel led, we'd love for you to come alongside us in fundraising - we'd love to let this baby know an entire community loved this child and his or her first mama!
