Dear Friends and Family,
We have BIG news…we are adopting a child!
As many of you know, having children is simply incredible. The love is fierce, the fun is grand and the trying times can test your patience like nothing else. But it is worth every minute of it! Unfortunately, the road to having children of our own has been difficult, as Stephanie has struggled twice with acute postpartum depression that came very close to taking her life. While we now have two beautiful little girls, we feel that our family is simply incomplete, but we know that having another biological child is not an option. After much prayer and a lot of research, we feel that God has placed us in this position so that we can walk the intricate, exciting and slightly scary road of adoption. Domestic infant adoption is not cheap, in fact our total budget is $60,000. We plan to pay half of that ourselves, and it is our sincere hope and prayer that we are able to match the other half through fundraising.
That is where you come in. While we know that many of you partnered with us prayerfully and/or financially during our missionary years in China (and many of you we have met since then) we ask you to prayerfully consider partnering with us again (or for the first time!) to bring another beautiful baby into our family through the adoption process. This time, however, we are asking for single, one-time donations with a fully funded goal of December 31st (then we can move on to the next step in the adoption process). We are excited to share with you our puzzle fundraiser! The picture you see here will be broken up into 252 pieces and made into an 11x16 inch puzzle. Each person who gives will get their name written on the back of one of the puzzle pieces. Once the puzzle is completed it will be put together, framed and hung in the baby’s room so they will forever have a memory of all of the pieces that helped bring them home. Knowing that some are able to give more than others, we are asking people to donate dollar amounts from $1 all the way to $252 (or more, take multiple spaces!). Once every dollar amount is given, the puzzle will be complete and we will have raised all of the $30,000 we need to fundraise.
Hadley and Brenley are so excited about adding another sibling to their little crew and we feel beyond blessed to have the opportunity to help a woman in a tough situation be able to place her baby in our loving home. If you are unable to donate financially, please know that we would cherish your prayers throughout this process as well. Again, it is our hope to be fully funded by December 31st, so we have 6 short weeks!
