We have had a heart for youth who have been displaced from their families for many years. Last year we began preparations to make a difference through foster care, but doors didn&'t open as months passed by. Then we learned about orphan hosting and asked many questions. We were drawn to two brothers while reviewing the directory for winter hosting, We felt very strongly that these were the boys for us! While we prepared for hosting, we found an agent who knew about Ukrainian adoption. She was able to determine that the boys were freed for adoption and had been in their orphanage for five years. We started our home study right away with the idea that we would adopt these boys after hosting. Four weeks of hosting flew by and we fell in love with D&V (protected). We wanted them to experience what life is like in our family. We had fun, but also made sure they were involved in daily household activities and visited school. Returning them was heartbreaking and now we want to bring them home forever. As we wait for our invitation to travel to Ukraine, we are working hard to raise funds for this adoption.
