We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. We are firmly convinced that God has called us to step out in faith and adopt a daughter from India, knowing that adoption itself is near and dear to God’s heart:
“But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.”
-Galatians 4:4-5
Almost a year to the day we submitted our application to adopt from India, we accepted the referral of a beautiful 7 month old baby girl with big brown eyes that melted our hearts immediately. We are now on the last leg of our journey to work to bring this little one home as soon as possible. Our agency has given us an anticipated travel of Spring/Summer of 2020. We are doing everything we can on our end to bring her home as soon as possible so that she can receive the love, nurturing, and medical care that she needs to grow and reach her God-given potential.
We have been saving, looking for extra income opportunities (need a website or a video??), organizing fundraisers, and applying for grants to help supplement our adoption costs. The estimated total cost for our adoption is estimated $40,000. Through careful planning and saving and trusting that God will finish what he started by stirring the hearts of friends, family, and foundations that help bring orphans to loving homes, we have made significant progress. Last year, our community showed up in a mighty way to help us kickstart our adoption through donations and participating in fundraisers. THANK YOU! We are now 2/3 of the way to being fully funded.
The biggest challenge in this process is not opening our hearts and home to a child, but it is finding the finances to make this happen, but we know God is faithful and is leading us to trust Him. Your friendship is appreciated, and we would like you to pray and consider helping us in one or two ways with our adoption.
Please pray God would tenderly care for our baby and her caregivers until we are able to bring her home; that God would prepare Alex, me, and the boys for the upcoming changes to our family; and that God will give us wisdom, discernment, and insight as we raise our child. Please pray that all unnecessary obstacles would be removed so that we can bring our daughter home as soon as possible.
