Eight years ago, we paddled out on a Pennsylvania summer night and released a dream into the sky. A dream for what our future together might hold. And now, part of that dream is becoming a reality.
We are adopting a child!
We have been accepted into Nightlight's international adoption Honduras program!
Ray, Judah, and I are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that Nightlight estimates that the total cost for adopting a child from Honduras will range from $32,000 to $46,000. This is why we have set a goal of $30,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up. As they say, it takes a village.
UNICEF estimates that there are 153 million orphaned children worldwide, and over 150,000 of those children are from Honduras. Every child deserves a loving home, and we are beyond excited to be on this journey of welcoming a little soul into our family. Thank you for helping us send our light up into the night sky.
