We are excited to announce we have begun the process of adoption a new child into our family.
We are now embarking on what will without a doubt be a difficult journey for us as a family. The more we learn about the adoption process, the more we realize just how much we’ll need God to walk us through it, in more ways than one.
And we realize just how much we’ll need a community of folks like you to surround us in support. So we would like to invite you to be a part of our adoption journey.
First, we would like to ask you to please pray for our family, for the birth family, and for this little boy or girl. Pray that God would protect us from the spiritual warfare that has already begun with more no doubt to come, not just to us but to the birth family as well.
Second, please pray for God’s provision.
Between home study fees, pre-placement fees, post-placement fees, attorney fees, etc, we expect our adoption to cost $40,000. Just writing out that number causes a bit of anxiety . . .
We have compiled a list of over a dozen adoption grants, cut all extraneous expenses, and diverted a portion of our monthly budget toward this expense. But it won’t be enough.
Just like God removed more and more of Gideon’s soldiers so no one could say it was anyone but God who provided the victory, we believe God wants to make it clear He’s the one who gets the glory for bringing this little one into our family.
So we’re coming to you to see how God might be calling you to come alongside us as we step out on this journey.
With your prayers and perhaps a contribution to help us defray the costs, your support will be a testament to what God can do through community. A gift of any amount, whether it is $50, $100, $1,000 or more, will put us that much closer to welcoming Thomas’ new baby brother or sister into our home.
The initial goal we've set above is what is currently needed to cover our pre-placement fees and home study fees, so that we will be added to the list of Adoptive Families presented to Birth moms to choose from, and must be raised by early June.
