We are adopting a child!
When I was 38 weeks pregnant with my daughter, Francesca, we were hit with some pretty scary news. I had preeclampsia. I was immediately sent to labor and delivery and the induction process was started. After two full days of failed inductions, it was determined that the safest way to proceed would be a c-section. They wheeled me in for surgery, prepped me, and began cutting. When they cut in, everyone in the OR was shocked at the amount of amniotic fluid I had. This caused many complications getting Francesca out. I thank God everyday for the doctors and nurses in that OR who did everything they could to get Frankie out before it was too late. Unfortunately, my preeclampsia did not go away with the delivery. It hung on tight and I spent the first three weeks of my daughter’s life in the hospital without her. It was physically and emotionally taxing. Due to the complications we faced, we have decided that it is in our best interest to not get pregnant again. Although we will not have another biological child, we want to complete our family with another baby. Frankie wants a sibling! We have decided to explore the option of adoption! This can be a very emotional and very expensive journey. We are humbly asking our friends and loved ones for any support they are able to give. Every little bit helps!
