We have a match! Praise the Lord!
Our first adoption fell through back in August. But today, on January 2, 2019, we received a new opportunity and now have a baby due on February 11th! Happy New Year to us from God :) We do not know the gender (and probably won't before birth) and will be heading to Maryland for the birth.
Adoption is expensive!
We are beyond excited (and a little overwhelmed!) and are doing everything we can to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. That includes saving for years in our personal adoption fund. We don't like talking openly about finances, but we've learned a lot about the cost of adoption. It may surprise you to hear that adoption-related costs can total up to $40,000 or more. We have applied for 3 grants and received 1 of them for $3,000. Additionally, God has worked through our adoption agency to help lower our cost a little.
So now, as part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign (woo hoo!). We are praying for help to ease our financial burden.

We know that our God owns all and that He is able. We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as s/he grows up.

Some of our backstory… We discussed adoption before we got hitched, and now the time has come!
Adoption is close to our hearts. When discussing having children as a couple, we were both excited about the prospect of adopting. The need is so great and this is something we can do to help children who do not have safe, loving homes. We want to do our part in providing a permanent home and are going through a Pennsylvania nonprofit agency called Adoption Step.
To consider that those who believe in Jesus are called children of God and heirs with Christ is beyond comprehension! In this way, God has led us to follow His example by loving because He first loved us.
