We have BIG news!

We are adopting! ####

Why Adoption?

The idea of adoption starts with God.God’s plan to adopt all of humanity is laid out throughout each page of the Bible. Adoption is the story of each Christ follower. God’s plan was always to save His creations from their sinful condition and adopt them into His heavenly family. And in Christ that is exactly what God accomplished. Ephesians 1:5 says that “He predestined us to be adopted as sons through Jesus Christ for himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.”

So for all Christians, our adoption into God’s family should bring to mind the earthly adoption of those without a home or a family. The Bible tells us that seeing someone hurting and in need and not doing anything about it is useless (James 2:15-16). The Church should see the orphan crisis as a mission field for the hope and love of the Gospel and adoption as an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus in a tangible way to the world we’re called to reach.

James 1:27 says that religion that is pure and undefiled before God is to look after orphans and widows in their distress. Isaiah 1:17 tells us to defend the cause of the fatherless. God’s heart for the orphan is evident throughout all of scripture and we feel that for us to call ourselves followers of Jesus, to say that our heart beats for what His does, we have to care about those He does.

Every Christian is called to be a part of adoption. First and foremost we are all called to be a voice for the voiceless. Specifically some are called to financially support adoption, others to provide meals, childcare, or to open their home as foster parents. For our family, God has called us to step into adding to our family through the adoption process.

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $32,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.

If you feel led to participate in the ministry of adoption by helping us bring the newest member of our family home, we would be so honored!

With love,

AJ, Liberty, McKenna, Grayden & Henleigh
