We are Stephen and Alicia, and we would like your help providing a home for a child through adoption. Even before we were married in 2008, we agreed that we would like to one day adopt. We knew this was another way to spread God's love to someone who might not otherwise have the opportunity for a family. While we both anticipated having biological children first, and adopting at a later point in life, we now feel God is pulling us in a different direction. We have put many prayers, tears and deliberation into the path that now lies before us. With a lot of research and by asking a lot of questions of those experienced with the adoption process, we are ready to begin what will be a very difficult journey. The blessing of saving a child from possible abortion or miscarriage (due to lack of prenatal care) is something we are both eager to be a part of. While we consider ourselves relatively secure in a financial sense, the process of adoption is a very expensive one. We have a fully funded emergency account and are actively eliminating our debt. We have to consider the fact that by adopting, we will be providing for and responsible for three lives instead of two. If we were to use a significant amount of our resources, we would no longer have as adequate of a contingency supply to cover an additional person.
