We are in the process of adopting a child! We were selected by a birth family to adopt their 3 year old boy. (Turned 4 in July) We couldn't have been more thrilled and nervous for this opportunity to grow our family. Would he bond well with our family? Would he cry and be lonesome all the time? Would we like his family? Would they like us?
Matthew Christopher Clayton Hovind came home on June 15th, 2020 and he has been the biggest blessing. All of our fears and questions were wiped away. He bonded extremely quickly. We love his birth family and they love us. God has been so good.
We are beyond excited about how God is going about growing our family. Adoption was never on the agenda so early on in our marriage, but God had bigger and better plans than we did!
As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $7,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. We have secured and paid a large portion of that amount but we still have a portion to pay before Matthew's finalization on Monday, December 21st.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he grows up. Please keep us in your prayers as we navigate this new situation and as we welcome this sweet little boy into our home and our family.
