Hi! Glad you are here and thanks for your interest!
If you are here, most likely, you know that we are pro-life, but we are not pro-life in the sense that we are just against abortion; we also want to help adopt.
We have wanted to do this for a long time and we officially started the process with Bethany Christian Services back in 2013. We have gone through the Home Study process (twice) and various training sessions to keep our eligibility. We understand there are many complexities and difficult situations that birth parents good through. Our heart and prayers go out to them. We are no saint, but we just want to help by adopting a child in the grand scheme of things. Currently, some sources estimate that there are about 2 million couples currently waiting to adopt in the United States – which means there are as many as 36 waiting families for every one child who is placed for adoption.
Earlier this year, a young mom was in a painful and heartbreaking situation. The dad is no where to be found. Mom was brave and endure the pregnancy. She carried the baby full term. Out of love for the baby, she made the difficult decision to give him up for adoption since she doesn't have the ability to care for him in this period of her life. A whole team of people including social workers, doctors, nurses and temporary foster parents all came together around the baby and the mom to help support them. They also tried to locate the dad.
As for us in this story, after six years of waiting, during March of this year (2019), we got the call. Since then, we have welcomed a beautiful new life into our home and working towards the finalization of the adoption. We named our daughter Zodayah, partly from zoe, which is Greek for life. We are naming our new baby boy, Hodosen (nickname Hudson), from hodos, which is Greek for way. If it's possible we might want to adopt another and name her Aletheia, which is Greek for truth. This is from John 14:6:, "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me….'" This will help our kids to know and to remind them of this Gospel truth even after we are gone from this life.
As part of our adoption process, we have started this crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. We are inviting you to join us in our adoption. We realize not everyone can adopt. If you can help us with some of this fee, it would be greatly appreciated. See yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our children as they grow up.
May the Lord bless you and bless us as we do something together that we believe is pleasing to Him…
