Erin Hudson

is adopting a child from United States of America

We are BLESSED!

OUR JOURNEY:

We chose adoption to grow our family, because after nearly 4 years of infertility and 4 failed IUI treatments, our next option was IVF. We searched our hearts, prayed and realized our desire was to be parents and it was not important to us how it happened. What was important was that we would have a child to love, support and nurture into a strong capable person.

Our prayers were answered , and answered , and answered!

June 2016 we got a call that a healthy boy had been born. The parents were homeless and decided to place him in voluntarily foster care. This is not through the state foster system, so there is not payment to us and the adoption is not free. When he was 4 months old they signed their rights away and in February 2017 we adopted our first son. I can't describe the happiness we felt after all of that waiting. Then came our son's biological brother in June 2017. We knew it would be hard to have babies just a year apart, but we couldn't say no to keeping the brothers together. Our 2nd son became our forever baby in April 2018 when he was 10 months old. But wait, there's more! Another full-biological brother was born in August 2018 and again we couldn't say no. We a adopted our last baby boy on June 20, 2019. We are happy, exhausted and have so much love for our 3 little blessings.

OUR NEED:

I'm a teacher and right now we are a single income household. A few years before our first son came into our care, my husband had started a business. The business was doing well, but when our son came we didn't want him to be in daycare. The business had not grown enough to rely on it as our full-time income, so we decided my husband would stay home with our foster son and run the business. When we found out about our 3rd adoption we could not afford to continue to put money into the company to grow, nor could my husband take care of the kids and work. We closed the business and my husband is currently looking for employment.

We had not planned on paying $15,000 for each adoption 3 years in a row. We have had lots of support, but we still had to take a loan for our 2nd adoption. We planned on paying off the loan with our tax refund this year, but instead we had to put that toward our 3rd adoption placement fee.

We're starting a crowd funding campaign with adopttoger.com to allow tax-deductible donations. Meeting our $10,000 goal would change our lives! Thank you for taking the time to learn our story and for your consideration.

Best wishes,

Devon, Erin & Our 3 sons
