We are adopting a child!
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $40,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
Since I was a junior in high school, I knew that I wanted to adopt a child one day. In my junior year of high school one of my classes required that we do 10 hours of community service. I chose to volunteer at the Children's Attention Home. The first day I went I fell in love. I knew that I would be doing way more than 10 hours there. The children were so amazing and happy. You don't understand resilience until you see the smile on child's face who was in a horrible situation, but now they feel safe and loved. I wanted to make sure every child there had a smile on their face and knew they were loved. My heart literally broke for these children. I couldn't imagine the pain and heartache they went through. I wanted to take it all away for them. I wanted to bare their burden. Volunteering at the Children's Attention Home helped shape who I am and guide my path to my profession as a School Counselor. I realized as a teenager my sole purpose on this earth was to serve and help children the best way I can.
My husband Jason and I have always dreamed of having a big family. We are so lucky to have two beautiful and loving children. Both pregnancies were very hard physically and mentally on me and we knew there was no way that I could make it through another one. We felt like our dream of having a large family was crushed because I couldn't withstand another pregnancy and we were not financially able to pursue adoption. We still are not financially able to pay $40,000 to adopt a child, but God has revealed to us that now is the time for us to begin the adoption process and he always provides what we need. We know that $40,000 is a lot of money, but how can you put a price tag on giving a child a better life and the love they deserve. Even if you are not able to give financially we welcome prayers that we will reach our goal. Please share our story with your friends and family members.
