We are adopting from China!
We are RUNNING to China to adopt a handsome 13 year old boy named Carson. We believe that he is meant to be ours!
As we have prayed for God to guide us as our family grows, we believe he has lead us to the adoption of this special boy. We first learned about Carson through an advocacy post on social media and from the moment we saw his face, our hearts were stirred to pray for his future family. Could it be us??
Incredibly, God gave us both peace and urgency to move forward in pursuit of his adoption. Carson turns 14 on March 5th and will no longer be eligible for adoption and without hope for a family. Our time would be extremely limited to complete all of the paperwork and certifications to be eligible to adopt, as well as get approval from China for adoption and travel. 7 weeks from start to finish! (Those who have adopted before understand that international adoption usually takes from 12-24 months!) Only a BIG and POWERFUL God could orchestrate all of the details to bring Carson home. And he has! God has been MOVING MOUNTAINS! It is incredible to watch doors swing open as we run toward our boy in China.
Our family is excited to grow and welcome a new brother and son. Cooper (age 12) has shared his deep desire for the friendship and companionship of a brother, especially one who can play with him and who understands being adopted. Carlisle (age 4), Elizabeth (age 3), and Catterson (18 months) are excited for another big brother as well. Megan and Logan feel honored to share our lives and our love with a child who needs the security of a committed family. We trust that God will meet all of our needs as we pursue this adoption and seek to raise Carson as our own precious child.
As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. While several fees have been waived (because he's an aging out child) and we may qualify for grants, adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more! There are also likely to be more expenses after we return home, including counseling, medical expenses, and translation assistance (Carson doesn't speak English!!) We would like to raise $20,000 to help make adoption a possibility for our family.
