We'd like to tell you a story.
Long, long ago, in a Michigan far far away, Nirma and I got married. It was 1999 and we were all collectively waiting for Y2K to destroy the world one computer at a time.
Fast forward 23 years. Y2K was a non-event, but our marriage is still rolling strong. Nirma is more beautiful than ever and I'm… well, I'm still her husband.
We have accomplished many things together during our marriage, but the one thing that we have never been able to do is conceive a child. We have spent years trying and have consulted doctors, but it turns out it is impossible for us a result of an illness years ago.
We talked through our options and whether or not we should put away our desire to be parents. It was then that we realized that we had an opportunity to provide a home to a child who didn't have one.
We started the adoption process back in January of 2019 and completed our home study in April of that year. Now we are in the waiting phase. We have spent the time during home study and since reading, learning, and preparing as best one can to be ready and able to raise a child to completion. That will be our burden and joy to bear, and we can't wait!
But there is another part, and it's one that you all can help us with. As it turns out, adoption is ridiculously expensive. The costs of adoption are projected to total close to $30,000.00 at a minimum, and it's not uncommon for it to go beyond that number. We are willing to do whatever it takes (within the bounds of the law and decency) to have the funds needed when they are needed, but it won't be easy.
That is why we started this crowdfunding campaign. Anything you are willing to donate will reduce that burden and be a tremendous blessing, and allow us to begin this family in a slightly better financial position.
Many of you are friends and family and will likely be part of this family in different ways, and for those of you who decide to be gracious and generous with your money whom we don't know, this is your chance to be part of giving a child with no family a home.
We know that everyone has their own financial needs, so we do not take your generosity lightly. Asking for this help is hard for us, but we are setting aside our pride and humbly asking for this blessing from any who are willing give.
