One of the reoccurring themes of our lives is that God often writes into our story things we would never have written. To be honest, this journey of adoption is another one of those. Corrie and I have been married 5 years and have loved the fact that God drew us to himself & to one another in such creative ways. But some of the bumps and turns along the way were unexpected and unasked for. However, reflecting on how God unfolded his plan in our lives, we would not go back and change it. For two plus years, we have been aiming to start a family, but, regardless of no medical issues in either of us, we have been unable to do so. Many thoughts creep into our minds as we grope for answers or explanation. But, as a dear friend once told us, some things are never "fixed" here on earth. Sometimes hardship is given to us, and although it is difficult to understand the point, God uses it: to draw us closer to himself, to teach us to trust, and to help us see God can & will use us in the lives of others - to be a blessing & encouragement to them. So although adoption was not something we would have written in initially, God has grown our heart. As we&'ve seen the staggering numbers of orphans in the world, as we more deeply understand the desire & capacity given to us for wanting to raise a family, & as we seek to reflect the love of Christ to the world around us - we are eager to see what God has to teach us on this journey. God has already blown us away with all the love & support of family, friends, church, etc. If you want to team up with us to care for this child coming into our home, please give and pray! Thanks to you all!
