Many of you already know that we are adopting a child! Our only goal during this process is to obey God. We have already seen Him at work and we trust that He will help us overcome the challenges of adoption, including finances.
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $40,000 or more. We have spent $6,000 on the process thus far and have also saved another $6,000 from fundraising, stimulus checks, and our own monthly contributions. However, we are receiving profiles for cases that are upwards of $48,000. This is why we have set a goal of $40,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. We realize this is a lofty goal and we don't anticipate it will be entirely covered by your donations, but every little bit helps.
